Most breweries in Germany have guest houses.  The Ayinger guest house is one of the nicer hotels I've ever stayed in.  The rooms are lovingly decorated.  The restaurant is top notch and the surrounding village is as quaint as they come.

The context of these pictures doesn't to justice to how pretty the village is. Aying is very close to Munich but a little tough to find. The whole town is pretty much owned by the Inselkammer brewing family. Through marriage the original family name changed from Leibhard, hence the name of the beer garden. The hotel itself also has a nice beer garden in the back.

Ayinger Fest Maerzen is about my favorite German beer. On this trip I also became a convert to their export helles, "Jahrhundert" (Century). An amazing change given that I normally am a Sierra Nevada-type hophead. Bavarian beers crank up the maltiness without assertive hopping.
